PSU University Communications Wins 2021 CASE District VIII Awards

Portland State University Communications staff received nine awards, including five gold medals, from the Council for Advancement and Support of Education as recognition of the department’s achievements in marketing and communications in 2020.

CASE, North America’s largest higher education advocacy organization, strives to encourage growth and educational advancement. Case District VIII represents institutions in Oregon, Washington, Montana, Idaho, Alaska and seven Canadian provinces.

The awards are:

  • A gold medal for the successful advertising of PSU’s new brand campaign “Embolden Each and Everyone” and a second gold medal for the production of the campaign’s accompanying video.
  • A gold medal for the cohesive sub-branding of PSU’s Graduate Programs to align with the new Embolden brand.
  • A gold medal for the production and messaging of the “PSU is Resilient” video.
  • A gold medal for the writing and design of the Spring 2020 issue of the Portland State Magazine.
  • A silver medal for the writing of “1970: The Year That Shaped PSU,” the cover feature for the Spring 2020 issue of the Portland State Magazine.
  • A silver medal in pivotal communications for the “PSU is Resilient” video.
  • A bronze medal for the concept, style, and execution of PSU’s new Embolden brand.
  • A bronze medal in pivotal special events for the 2020 Virtual Commencement.
