PSU receives $110,000 from The Standard’s record-breaking Employee Giving Campaign

Portland State University students, staff and programs will benefit from the generosity of The Standard’s annual employee giving campaign.

“The Employee Giving Campaign is an extension of what our business does every day: helping people when they need it most,” said Greg Ness (MBA ’87), chairman, president and chief executive officer of The Standard. “I am really proud of how employees of The Standard have once again answered the call to help make our communities better places to live,” Ness added.

The campaign raised $1.1 million benefiting more than 1,700 schools and nonprofit organizations. After a dollar-for-dollar match by The Standard and a second match by Meiji Yasuda Life Insurance Company, total contributions from the 2017 campaign will exceed $4.4 million. These results broke all previous giving records for the campaign.

PSU will receive $110,000 of the total funds pledged in support of its College Affordability and Success Fund – a special fund created by local business leaders in support of PSU students.
