Portland State says high school protest participation won’t affect admissions

Portland State University announced that its admissions process won’t penalize high school students for participating in peaceful protest activities. Students who take part in protests like the March for Our Lives and the National School Walkout Day should not worry that these activities will jeopardize their admission to PSU.

“PSU supports the right of students and prospective students to engage in peaceful and lawful protest to bring social change,” said John Fraire, PSU’s vice president for enrollment management and student services. “Participating in such protest activities will not impact students’ admission to PSU.”
