New campus survey on housing and food insecurity

National research suggests that 10-14% of university students are currently experiencing homelessness. Portland State’s Homelessness Research & Action Collaborative (HRAC) will launch an email survey next week to understand the scope of housing and food insecurity among students and employees on our own campus. The results will help the university shape its support for students and employees who are struggling to meet their basic needs.

All PSU students and employees will receive an email link to the survey, which will take 10 to 15 minutes to complete. Participation is entirely voluntary, and all responses are completely anonymous. If you complete the survey, you may choose to be entered into a random drawing to receive a $100 Visa gift card.

The survey will be used to better understand housing and food insecurity issues in our PSU community, and to help design approaches to improve the well-being and success of all students and employees. If you have questions or concerns about the study, contact Dr. Greg Townley, gtownley@pdx.edu or 503-725-3910.
