The Portland State Bookstore is pleased to announce an improved in-store shopping experience. Starting this November, textbooks will be organized alphabetically by author instead of by course number. This change will:
- Simplify the text floor layout – no more hunting for a specific section amongst a sea of tags
- Increase availability of used books – all copies of multi-course texts will be in one place
- Improve readability of the shelf tags – all course and price info on one tag
- Expand on-floor selection – browse beyond just current term titles
- Increase speed of stock replenishment – it is quicker for our staff to restock by author
Students just need to have their book list with them, and locating the books on the shelf has never been easier. Book lists can be located under their course at https://www.bkstr.com/portlandstatestore/home or by checking required books listed on course syllabi.
“We are excited to offer this new and improved shopping experience for students,” said Cory Adamski, Portland State Bookstore manager. “It’s a great opportunity for the Portland State Bookstore team to simplify back to school shopping, and to make all our campus titles available to the university and local communities anytime, year-round.”
