Music Undergrad Application Process

Tours of the School of Music & Theater are offered monthly. Meet our welcoming faculty, walk through the state-of-the-art facilities, and learn about the rich theater and music curriculum!

Our rolling admissions means students can apply for admission to the School of Music & Theater at any time in the year prior to the first day of classes. Submit a video-recorded audition with your application. If you prefer to audition in person, see below. Apply by January to be considered for scholarships.

Students must apply to both the School of Music & Theater and Portland State University at large. 

Learn about the multiple sources to fund your education and how to apply. The earlier you apply the more funds available. Aim to apply by January.

Admission and scholarships are awarded based on auditions. Auditions are available all year: upload with your application a video recording of yourself performing. To audition in person, contact your Area Coordinator.
