Our concert includes selections from North America, South America, Europe, Africa and Asia; and is bookended with music by female composers Hildegard von Bingen from the Middle Ages and Elaine Hagenberg, our most popular living composer. Audience members will also enjoy the world premiere of “My Father Digging,” composed by PSU professor Darrell Grant, based on the beloved poem “Digging” by Seamus Heaney, with guest solo artist esperanza spalding.
