About the artist

Natalie Ball was born and raised in Portland. She holds a bachelor’s degree with a double major in ethnic studies and art from the University of Oregon, a master’s degree focusing on Indigenous contemporary art from Massey University in New Zealand, and an MFA in painting & printmaking from Yale School of Art. Her work has been shown nationally and internationally, including the Half Gallery, NY; Vancouver Art Gallery, BC; Nino Mier Gallery, CA; Portland Art Museum, OR; Gagosian, NY; Seattle Art Museum, WA; Almine Rech Gallery, FR; and SculptureCenter, NY. Ball's work interrogates historic and contemporary abuses against, and the survivance of, Black and Indigenous with unabashed power, pride, and cultural fluency.
