Every week during the academic year, Currently celebrates faculty and staff accomplishments, including appearances on panels, presentations, recent publications or performances, and research grants.

  1. Idowu (Jola) Ajibade, geography faculty, Vivek Shandas, urban studies and planning faculty, and Todd Rosenstiel, College of Liberal Arts and Sciences Dean, received a $1.5 million grant from the National Science Foundation in collaboration with Aaron Ramirez from Reed College, and Kevan Moffett from Washington State University to work on a collaborative study that aims to understand how the history of redlining and structural racism continues to impact neighborhoods through tree-planting policies. The project’s goal is to identify opportunities for undoing legacies of inequality in urban tree-human dynamics, and to foster equitable and resilient communities.
