Supervisor Resources Overview

PSU managers, supervisors and administrators are expected to fill a variety of roles around leading PSU employees.

  1. Hiring and training new employees
  2. Maintaining position records such as job descriptions and performance evaluations
  3. Managing administrative aspects such as timesheets or leave reports
  4. Ensuring employees have access to individual training
  5. Guiding employees to resources such as protected leaves, accommodations, retirement and benefits
  6. Performance feedback and development

Supervisors are employees’ first point of contact for navigating these aspects and also the first contact should an employee choose to separate their employment, request transfer or promotion to other departments and / or leave the University based upon request.

A leadership role requires well-developed skills along with knowledge around the resources available. This section provides helpful tools to support confidence and competence in leadership.
