Employee Assistance Program (EAP)

Program Overview

The Employee Assistance Program (EAP) provides assistance to individuals dealing with issues that affect work, home, or family life. Use of the EAP is free and confidential. The program is available to employees, spouses, and eligible dependents.

How To Use The Program

Access to the EAP can be done face-to-face, over the phone, or online*.  Employees will have a confidential session with a licensed professional counselor who will help solve any problems or concerns. PEBB works with Canopy to offer the EAP service.

Online Member Login allows access to many resources online and chat with a counselor via chat or video.

Wellness Programs

These programs are offered to employees who are enrolled in a medical program through Portland State. Some programs are extended to spouses, partners, dependents and even extended family members. They are offered at low or no cost to promote healthy living.

Better Choices, Better Health is a program that helps manage chronic conditions.

Diabetes Prevention

The PEBB Diabetes Prevention Program is a lifestyle training program that allows participants to learn strategies, with a trained health coach, incorporating physical activity into daily life and eating healthy. Click on one of the following program links to learn more.

Healthy Team Healthy U

Healthy Team Healthy U is an online program that provides tools to help improve your diet, be more physically active, have more energy and enjoy better health.

Tobacco Cessation

The Tobacco Cessation program provides comprehensive support at no cost

  • Consultations with a trained quit coach who knows how tough it can be to quit and ways to stay - or get back on - track

  • Materials to help plan and stick to a personalized quit program
  • Coverage of certain prescribed medications to help with quitting

Fitness Center And Other Related Discounts

PEBB insurance companies offer discounts to over 9,000 participating fitness centers and programs nationwide as well as fitness-related discounts. 

WW (formerly Weight Watchers)

Only benefit eligible employees actively enrolled in a medical program can participate for free.The benefit covers up to four 13-week WW series per the calendar year.

Lactation Spaces

PSU has designated certain private locations as suitable for lactating employees under ORS 653.077 who are expressing milk by manual or mechanical means. The following links provide a list of locations as well as a guide for Employee's Breastfeeding and working.
