2026-2027 Cancellation Guide

Residents who are cancelling their contract must complete a Contract Cancellation Request Form via the Housing Portal to avoid improper cancellation charges. UHRL will send an email upon approval of cancellation request. Cancellation fees may apply.

The $140 Spring Prepayment will be refunded only if Resident provides UHRL with written notice of Contract cancellation on or before May 1, 2026. Cancellations after May 1, 2026 will not receive a refund of the Spring Prepayment. Students with active Contracts during Spring 2027 will have Spring Term charges reduced by $140.

Below are the cancellation fees that apply if you cancel the Housing Contract after Reserving a Room and before moving in.

*Students who live with UHRL during the Summer 2026 Contract Term are considered to be "in-room" for Fall Term starting August 29th, 2026. 
*Students who move in prior to September 24th due to approved PSU programs are considered to be "in-room" for Fall Term as of  8/29 or their move-in date, whichever is later. Cancellation fees + daily pro-rated early move-in fees will apply.

UHRL will check registration records after the second week of each term for all residents who cancel their contract due to non-enrollment/withdrawal and will adjust the buy-out fee for any resident who is registered at that time.

2026-2027 Cancellations After Move-in

Below are the cancellation fees that apply if you cancel the Housing Contract after moving in for the 2026-2027 Academic Year. Residents are responsible for checking out of their unit by noon on their scheduled move-out date. Students not enrolled in minimum credits must move out by the Sunday following withdrawal from classes. 

*Summer 2026 residents who are confirmed to live in UHRL for the 2026-2027 academic year are considered to be "in-room" for Fall Term beginning August 29th, 2026.
*Students who move in prior to September 24th due to approved PSU programs are considered to be "in-room" for Fall Term as of  8/29 or their move-in date, whichever is later. Cancellation fees + daily pro-rated early move-in fees will apply.

1 - Cancellations due to Active Military Duty will be pro-rated for each night in room

2 - If a student withdraws from the University during Winter Term, and reenrolls for Spring Term, they will be responsible for all of Spring Term housing charges.
