His research examines the role of organizational, contextual, and socioeconomic factors that contribute to the reproduction of inequalities in access to high-quality long-term care and in residents’ experiences in the long-term care system. His ongoing projects span four interrelated areas: evaluating state programs that provide services to older adults and people with physical disabilities, the spatial inequalities that unfold as newer cohorts of older adults move into residential long-term care, the role of family in navigating long-term care, and the effect of organizational characteristics of residential long-term care facilities on resident well-being.
