  1. Jola Ajibade, geography faculty, was featured in “Can We Stop Cities Going Underwater?” for Al Jazeera on Oct. 21.
  2. Scott Burns, geology faculty emeritus, led four all-day field trips to Mount St. Helens, the Columbia River Gorge, terroir of wine in the gorge and terroir of wine in Yamhill County during the Annual Meeting of the Geological Society of America in October at the Oregon Convention Center. 
  3. Jack Corbett, public administration faculty, has been appointed to a three-year term on the Public Policy and Administration Peer Review Committee of the U.S. Fulbright Commission.
  4. Maude Hines, English faculty, was part of a panel called, “Caught in Time: Black Boyhood, Criminalization and Revolt” at the American Studies Association Conference on Oct. 11.
  5. Ken Ruoff, history faculty and director of the Center for Japanese Studies, was quoted in NBC News, NPR, CBS, The Washington Post, Channel News Asia, The New York Times, Nihon Keizai Shinbun and CNN about the marriage of Mako Komuro, formerly a Japanese princess.
