Pedro is an archaeologist of the Spanish-speaking Caribbean region with a focus on Indigenous cultural survival, Afro descent history and identity, spirituality, and food ways. Pedro's research uncovers the struggle of communities against dominant paradigms, including racial politics of the nation-state. His topics and places of interest include cassava and corn, the Dominican Republic, Cuba, and Puerto Rico.
