Assistant Professor, Head of CORE
M. Michelle Illuminato has expertise in setting up dynamic first-year art programs for young artists and designers and is known for her innovative teaching practice. She is currently shaping a new CORE program in the School of Art and Design. She teaches graduate level pedagogy at Portland State University.
In her art practice she creates events, public-exchanges, and artworks to help reveal the complicated and often contradictory relationship between people, their culture, and the land they live on. She works individually and with the collective next question on projects that have been exhibited nationally and internationally.
