Associate Professor, Curriculum and Instruction

Dr. Anita Bright, Ph.D., is an associate professor in Curriculum and Instruction at Portland State University. She is the program coordinator for the Added ESOL Endorsement and has served as a doctoral cohort co-leader for the previous six years.

Drawing upon 20+ years as a public school educator, her research leverages critical race theory and explores power, privilege, and the ways educators conceptualize ideas of social justice. Her work also highlights the ways educators address systemic inequities, including racism, sexism, classism, linguicism, and their intersections.
