Kim’s debut novel Beasts of a Little Land was named a finalist for the 2022 Dayton Literary Peace Prize and won the 2024 Yasnaya Polyana Award, Russia's largest annual literary prize awarded by the Leo Tolstoy Museum Estate. Published around the world, it is being adapted into a series. Her second novel City of Night Birds, a Reese's Book Club pick, was published in November 2024. She is an advocate for conservation, animal rights, and development and aid in Africa. She serves as a goodwill ambassador for the Korean Tiger Leopard Conservation Fund. Born in Incheon, Korea, she now lives in London.
