Described as a "rare combination of clarity and power" (AllMusic Guide), Tetiana Shafran has won over 20 international competitions and gained the accolades of the classical music world. The young Ukrainian star will make her PPI debut, showcasing her sublime gift through a program that weaves together fervor and legacy.

A melancholic prelude by Scriabin will inaugurate the evening, followed by Busoni's Variations and Fugue on Chopin's C Minor Prelude. Soon after, Shafran will sway her listeners to tears with Mykola Lysenko's mournful Elegie. Following these intimate pieces are nods to virtuosity with Liszt's Ballade No. 2 and his arrangement of Paganini's epochal "La campanella." Musicality will ripple from Shafran's fingers as she brings the lush Sonatine by Ravel and impassioned crowd favorite Tchaikovsky's Sleeping Beauty suite to life.
