Meet Blake Turner: The Center for Entrepreneurship Longest-Standing Member!
Blake Turner has always had a huge love for cars, and in 2018, while attending Rogue Community College, he turned that passion into a prototype. He founded Turner Automotive with a mission to make eco-friendly driving accessible to all, developing a hydrogen conversion kit that allows cars to run on zero-carbon hydrogen. His innovation earned him first place in the Rogue Community College.InventOR semifinals.
After transferring to Portland State University later that year, Blake started working at PSU as a student ambassador for the school of engineering. He also continued refining his prototype. In 2019, he competed in PSU’s Cleantech Challenge, securing first place! This win led to an invitation to Invent Oregon, the state’s premier collegiate prototyping competition, where he showcased his work and took home second place.
In 2021, Blake joined the Center for Entrepreneurship as an Outreach & Engagement Assistant, helping recruit students and support key programs and competitions. Throughout the years, Blake has helped shape the CE’s programing, and has witnessed the growth of the CE providing him with a unique perspective as both a student and staff. After graduating in 2024, he remained committed to the Center, taking the lead on the VIL Summer Camp program, and playing a major role in all the programming. Recently, his hard work was recognized with a promotion to Project Coordinator—a well-earned milestone in his ongoing journey of innovation and impact!
