COMMUNICATIONS AND MARKETING ASSISTANT

Job Description

The PSU Center for Entrepreneurship seeks a Communications and Marketing Assistant. Reports to the Director of Student Innovation, the Marketing Assistant will work with staff to assist in the creation and implementation of the Center for Entrepreneurship communication and Marketing strategy; and will assist in building relationships with alumni, students, and faculty to advance the Center’s vision of partnership, access, and community engagement.

Responsibilities:

  • Creating social content based on provided strategy and goals associated with each program
  • Work directly with Center management to execute social media calendar and seek out additional content
  • Provide clerical support for marketing and communications activities, including some SEO and analytics
  • Provide support for PSU Center for Entrepreneurship events
  • Assist with scriptwriting for interviews, panels, and live events
  • Support social media (especially Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and LinkedIn ) by providing photographs, ideas, posts, etc.
  • Assist in the development of recruitment campaigns for CE programs
  • Provide occasional administrative support and back-up to Program Managers and Center for Entrepreneurship Staff.
  • Other duties as assigned

Job Qualifications: 

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient in MS Word and Excel, Hootsuite, WordpressWordPress
  • Must be conscientious, very detail-oriented, and a creative problem solver
  • Interests in, Operations, Logistics, Marketing, Business Development, Alumni Relations, Social Media

Eligibility:

  • Must be PSU student. Prefer sophomore, junior, or senior standing or graduate student
  • Maintain the minimum credit hours each term/be eligible to be a student employee

Hours and Rate:

  • Starting at $15.00 an hour (depending on experience), 19 hours a week
