Dr. Heidi Meister (she/they) is an Assistant Professor of Practice with the College of Education at Portland State University in the Department of Curriculum & Instruction. Heidi works with teacher candidates and current practitioners in several programs including GTEP, Masters, Elementary (LEEP), and Bilingual Teacher Pathways, as an instructor, advisor, and a Clinical Educator supporting clinical-based experiences in Secondary classrooms. Heidi's educational and research interests focus on technology-enhanced learning, underwater and land-based robotics to introduce STEM Ed and ocean exploration, and digital game-based learning as a platform to teach social justice education. Dr. Meister's course design promotes equity through project-based experiences based on current research in culturally sustaining teacher education, Universal Design for Learning principles, and inclusive learning frameworks.
