Who this program is for
Candidates who have a valid teaching license in general or special education with an endorsement in visual impairment and who are only seeking to add the O&M certificate to their teaching credentials.

National requirements
- 350 hours internship
- Supervision of an ACVREP COMS
- ACVREP exam
Prerequisites:
- SPED 540 Foundations of Education for the Visually Impaired Learner
- SPED 541 Implications of Vision Problems
- SPED 545 Orientation and Mobility/Life Skills
- Current Teaching License with VIL Endorsement
Candidates may apply for course waivers if their program offered substantially similar coursework.
In-kind supports:
- Host a summer Advanced Cane Techniques class at your school or program
- Help coordinate smaller cohorts (we need 6 students for each Advanced Cane Techniques course section)
- Help identify training areas with: residential travel areas (with sidewalks), lighted intersections, transitions from residential to small business areas, downtown travel areas, bus transportation, shopping malls, etc.
- Financial support for your employees: gas or transportation
