Every week during the academic year, Currently celebrates faculty and staff accomplishments, including appearances on panels, presentations, recent publications or performances, and research grants.

  1. Susan Conrad, Alissa Hartig and Lynn Santelmann, applied linguistics faculty, co-edited “The Cambridge Introduction to Applied Linguistics,” published by Cambridge University Press in July. Nike Arnold, Kim Brown, Tucker Childs, Janet Cowal, Kathy Harris, John Hellermann, Gloria Jacobs, Tetyana Sydorenko and Keith Walters, applied linguistics faculty, and Steve Thorne, world languages and literatures faculty, contributed chapters to the volume.  
  2. Ryan Petteway, OHSU-PSU School of Public Health faculty, had his short film titled “TOGETHER//Untethered” featured in the “COVID-19” section of the Public Health Film Festival at the 148th Meeting of the American Public Health Association from Oct. 24-28.
  3. Julia Freybote, business faculty, published “Pull and Push Factors as Determinants of Foreign REIT Investments” in the Journal of Real Estate Portfolio Management.
  4. Amy Parker, College of Education faculty, Martin Swobodzinski, geography faculty, and Jenna Beresheim-Kools, student in the College of Education, co-authored “The Use of Wayfinding Apps by Deafblind Travelers in an Urban Environment: Insights From Focus Groups” in Frontiers in Education in October. 
  5. Jack Straton, physics and university studies faculty, had one of his photographs chosen to be part of “Art Through The Lens 2020” at the Yeiser Art Center in Paducah, Kentucky, Oct. 23-Nov. 28.
