Spring people

 

  1. Maude Hines, English faculty, has been elected to the position of President Elect by the Children’s Literature Association.
  2. Susan Kirtley, English faculty, had her panel, “Undercover but not Invisible: Marvel Superheroines at Work” highlighted as one of the “Panels with Diverse Voices” at the Wondercon Convention in Anaheim, California, on April 2.
  3. Ryan Petteway, OHSU-PSU School of Public Health faculty, was honored for a paper titled, “Poetry as Praxis and ‘Illumination’: Toward an Epistemically Just Health Promotion for Resistance, Healing and (Re)Imagination,” which was selected as the Journal of Health Promotion Practice’s 2021 Sarah Mazelis Paper of the Year Award at the 2022 meeting of the Society for Public Health Education.
  4. Thea Prieto, English, had her new book “From the Caves” named a finalist in the 2021 INDIES Book of the Year Awards and included on the list for the VCU Cabell First Novelist Award.
  5. Marta Stelmaszak Rosa, business faculty, has been appointed as a member of the Early Career Editorial Board at the Journal of Strategic Information Systems.
