Why Study Abroad?

When you step out of a familiar environment and engage with another society, where cultural, political, and academic perspectives differ from the U.S., it can greatly enhance your perspective by placing domestic issues and experiences within an international context.  It helps participants negotiate differences, listen to and learn from new viewpoints, and adapt to unfamiliar situations.  The changed perspective students gain from studying abroad helps make them better informed global citizens, and they are often more competitive for employment, fellowships, and graduate school.

Pell Grant Recipient? You may also be eligible for the Gilman Scholarship, worth up to $5,000! 

Need Scholarships? The PSU Ed Abroad office offers scholarship workshops every term and has a multitude of resources online for students on a budget. Come meet with us so we can talk about awards ranging from $500 - $10,000.

What Programs Work Well For Business Majors?

The programs below not only offer a wide variety of business courses, but also may offer courses to fulfill general education requirements, minor, certificate, or business elective credit. Remember, business students must take a minimum of 82 business credits and 90 non-business credits. Studying abroad is a great way to earn these credits.

INTERNSHIPS ABROAD

Business students are highly encouraged to participate in international internships. Internships vary from a few hours a week paired with Business coursework, to full-time internships awarding 12 upper-division elective credits.

Need a Specific Business Course?

The programs below are pre-approved for specific courses, however, this is not an exclusive list, rather it is a list of courses students have already earned abroad. There may be other programs that offer the credit you need, just meet with an Ed Abroad advisor to learn more. 

I loved applying my PSU business classes to real-world scenarios in Belgium and creating a marketing campaign that I'm truly passionate about. It made me realize that I could use this as a career later down the road and it's something that really excited me.
