Portland State University is committed to providing all members of its community, including students, staff, faculty, and administrators, a welcoming learning and employment environment that is diverse, inclusive, and where individuals and groups can thrive based on their interests and abilities. To gauge whether Portland State is meeting its goals, Global Diversity & Inclusion (GDI) administered a general climate survey during the spring term 2018. The survey asked about perceptions, beliefs, and experiences related to the overall campus culture and climate, with particular questions to individuals based on their identities.

The Diversity Action Council’s subcommittees for Recruitment and Retention of Diverse Faculty, Staff, and Students reviewed the data and provided key findings and recommendations, which are provided in the four reports. We recognize that climate and culture evolve and perceptions may have changed over the last year. PSU community members are encouraged to review the survey reports and provide any insight, feedback, or suggestions based on the reports and data provided or based on personal experiences or perceptions from the last year through the Campus Climate Survey Feedback Form.
