The Embracing Our Majority-BIPOC Future Symposium was a pivotal two-day event designed to highlight and harness the potential of our majority BIPOC future. By focusing on the unique responsibilities and opportunities that came with this shift, the symposium aimed to create a welcoming space for dialogue and collaboration. Attendees engaged in insightful discussions and experienced dynamic performances that celebrated cultural expression, all centered around the themes of inclusion and empowerment.
As participants explored the intersections of identity, equity, and leadership, they collaborated in workshops that fostered innovative ideas and actionable strategies for our university and community. This symposium not only served as a catalyst for meaningful conversation but also encouraged attendees to envision and actively shape a future that reflects the rich diversity of our campus.
Our majority-BIPOC future is a big responsibility and a new reality. It is also an incredible opportunity, so we are listening, learning and trying to grow as fast as we can so we can meet the needs of our students and reach our aspirations to be the premier minority-serving institution in the region.
