Currently Accolades: Presented for October 12, 2020

Every week during the academic year, Currently celebrates faculty and staff accomplishments, including appearances on panels, presentations, recent publications or performances, and research grants.

  1. Óscar Fernández, university studies faculty, created and facilitated a remote workshop titled “Best Practices in Interpreting in the LGBTQI Community” for the Oregon Health Care Interpreter Association (OHCIA), on Oct. 3.
  2. Yu Wang, co-director of Confucius Institute at Portland State University (CIPSU), co-presented the fifth global “One Hundred Translators” contest. CIPSU co-organized the contest in collaboration with the Confucius Institute at the University of the West Indies in Mona, Jamaica.
