by Currently December 21st 2021 Share Facebook Twitter Sarah Dougher and Sonja Taylor, university studies, were awarded a three-year, $300,000 grant from the Teagle Foundation to start a Knowledge for Freedom Program at Portland State. The two-week residential course, called Inquiry for Justice, will serve a cohort of rising high school seniors beginning in summer 2022. Michael N. McGregor, English faculty emeritus, was awarded the $2,500 2022 Donald J. Sterling, Jr. Senior Research Fellowship in Pacific Northwest History. The fellowship, given by the Oregon Historical Society (OHS), will fund research in the OHS archives for an upcoming book, as well as the development of an article for the Oregon Historical Quarterly.
