If-you-go event information

Welcome to Viking Pavilion at the Peter W Stott Center regional event venue and host to entertainment, community and athletic events. 
Viking Pavilion is located at 930 SW Hall St, Portland 97201, along the South Park Blocks on the Portland State University Campus.

Note: This information provides guidelines for visiting Viking Pavilion and Portland State University. Your individual event may have additional rules and instructions specific to that activity. For example, organizers might have bag-check policies or differing options for accessiblity. Please check the information supplied with your ticket or on the date of the event to learn more. Contact organizers with specific event questions.
 

The northeast ground entrance near Versa Cafe is the primary ADA access for many events. Drop-off is available on the SW College Ave loop off SW Broadway (go right at Jackson-Rose Hill) and then enter at the bottom corner of Viking Pavilion.  
     Ramps for ADA access are also located at the Box Office entrance, SW Hall and 10th, near the Stott Community Field and at the southeast entrance on the Park Blocks-facing side of Viking Pavilion for late comers. 
     Commencements: ADA access is also available at the drop-off on SW College Ave. 
     Interpreters and ADA assistance is determined by the event organizer. Contact organizers for specifics on your event.
     Contact PSU Disability Resource Center for more information on accessibility assistance on campus. 

Bag policies can vary by event. Generally bags larger than 14"x14"x6" are not permitted (some exceptions are allowed for childcare and medical needs – though they will still be checked).
     Commencements: Bag checks will be conducted upon entering. Balloons, wrapped gifts and large signs or displays are NOT permitted. 
     Please check your ticket information for policies specfic to your event. Most large community and athletic events require a bag check for all items larger than a purse.

Items considered a hazard to attendees or staff are not allowed. These include: 

• No balloons, self-rising or helium filled
• No outside food or beverages (empty water bottles generally allowed)
• No alcoholic beverages (excluding approved catering or concessions)
• No illegal drugs
• No weapons including knives, guns, drones (per FAA rules)
• No glass bottle or metal cans
• No airhorns, whistles, other similar noisemakers
• No confetti or glitter or similar materials
• No large posters or signs, signs or flags on poles
• No wrapped gifts at events with bag check
• No pyrotechnics of any kind
• No other generally prohibited hazardous substances 

Commencement: No self-rising or helium-filled balloons or large signs/displays that obstruct the view of others are allowed in the Viking Pavilion.

Racks are available on the north side of Viking Pavilion. 

    PSU's Bike Parking Policy Page

Located at SW Hall St and SW 10th Ave near the Stott Community Field. Box Office opens one hour before most events. 
    Commencements: PSU graduates should check commencement email (pdx.edu accounts) for information on walk-up ticket availability at each ceremony. Guests will not be entering at this door, only graduates preparing to walk.

Entrance to the Peter W. Stott center on SW Park and 10th, location of the large PSU shield. This is the box office entrance for most events.

Cameras, including those with detachable lenses of 100 MM or less, are not allowed at athletic department events. Monopods and tripods are not permitted. Video recording devices are prohibited at PSU Athletic Department events. 
     Cameras may or may not be allowed at special events (i.e., concerts) and is determined by the event organizers. Check your event information.

Portland State University classes are held on the lower level of Viking Pavilion. Use your PSU ID to enter at the Versa Cafe entrance off SW Park and the Park Blocks. Classrooms are down the corridor directly across from the entrance, past the restrooms.

Concessions are available during most events on the concourse level. 

    Concession stand No. 1 is located near the elevator in the northeast corner of the concourse (behind Section 110). 

    Concession stand No. 2 is located in the southwest corner of the concourse (behind Section 102). No. 2 is not open for all events.

     At some events additional concessions will be available on the concourse. 

    Versa Cafe, located on the ground floor, is often open during large events and offers a unique menu.

Viking Pavilion, 930 SW Hall Portland 97201, is located along Portland’s South Park Blocks. 

    From I-5, exit onto I-405 in Portland. On I-405, exits 1C (SW 6th Avenue) and 1D (SW 12th Avenue) serve Viking Pavilion and the Portland State University campus.

    Coming east on 26, use the downtown exit to arrive on SW Market near the campus.

    On downtown streets, Viking Pavilion is located near SW Broadway and Hall. 

    To enter the drop-off loop (strictly limited parking), turn left off SW College or right off SW Broadway onto SW Rose Hill St (former SW Jackson) and follow the loop to the right onto SW Park.

The elevator for the general public is located in the northeast corner of the building, behind section 110 on the concourse. 

Due to fire code, scooters and other non-ADA electronic transports are not allowed inside of Viking Pavilion at any time. They can be parked at the bike racks on the north side of Viking Pavilion. 

The Portland Farmers Market is held from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturdays on the South Park Blocks in front of Viking Pavilion. Market activities often interfere with drop-offs on SW College Ave and nearby street parking. 

     Please plan extra time for arrival at Viking Pavilion events during this time. 

Located near the southeast entrance (behind section 204 on the concourse level) and open during most events. You can find Event Assistance, Lost & Found, Sensory Accessibility and General Information at Guest Services.

Portland State University respects all views and has a no-tolerance policy in respect to speech that denigrates or belittles others for any reason. Violators can be asked to leave Viking Pavilion without notice.

Next to the Family Restroom space (PSC 245), behind section C6 in the corridor off the west end of the Arena. Includes sink, chair, table, outlet and changing table. Fourth door from right in the photo below.

Items turned into Lost & Found at the Guest Services office (behind section 104) remain in Viking Pavilion for the duration of the event. Items with a value of more than $50 will be turned over to Portland State’s Campus Public Safety Office within 48 hours of the event.

Vendors at each event are responsible for items sold. Any returns must be made during the event through the vendor. 

All-Gender – On the lower level located located at the east end of the Arena, near Versa Cafe. Located on the concourse behind section B6 (single stall) in the corridor off the west end of the Arena. 

     Family Restroom – Located on the concourse level behind section C6 in the corridor off the west end of the Arena (pictured below).

     Mens Restroom (3) – Located on the north concourse, behind section 111, and on the west concourse behind section 101 (go around the corner to the left). On the concourse, mens room is located at the east end of the Arena, near Versa Cafe.

     Womens Restrooms (3) – Located on the north concourse, behind section 111, and on the west concourse near Guest Services behind section 104. On the concourse, womens room is located at the east end of the Arena, near Versa Cafe.

Parking is available for events in PSU Parking Structure 1, 1872 SW Broadway, Portland 97201 (enter on SW Broadway or 6th Ave) and Parking Structure 3, 1631 SW 12th Ave., Portland 97201 (enter on SW 12th or 13th). Both take Parking Kitty, Park Mobile credit cards and cash. Pay at kiosks after parking and before exiting the parking structure. You cannot pay for parking at the box office.      Street parking is available on downtown streets. Time limits range from 90 minutes to five hours depending on the block. Pay using Parking Kitty, credit or cash at most kiosks. Learn more about current rates and hours at the city’s webpage.
    Commencements: Construction at SW Broadway and SW Jackson (Rose Hill) will limit street parking in the immediate blocks southeast of Viking Pavilion and along SW Broadway.

Address for drop off is 930 SW Hall St. Portland OR 97201. Drivers cannot park in the SW Park and College loop but can drop off passengers there. Most events will use the building entrance at the Box Office. Go north on the Park Blocks (towards the library) from the drop off and turn left at the bottom of the Viking Pavilion. The Box Office is at SW Hall and 10th.
     Commencements: After drop-off, guests can enter at the doors on the Park Blocks side of Viking Pavilion. Graduates should go left at the north end of the building and enter at the Stott Center Box Office entrance (at the large PSU Shield).

The Viking Pavilion is a smoke-free facility and smoking is not permissible in the facility by any guest or employee. This includes tobacco and marijuana products, vaping or e-cigarettes devices. Individuals who smoke or use tobacco products must be outdoors at least 20 feet away from Viking Pavilion doors or windows.

Ticket sales are handled by event organizers except for Portland State Athletic events and PSU Commencements, which can be purchased online at the University Box Office

     On-site sales and Will Call are handled at the Stott Center Box Office, SW Park and 10th.

Public transportation to Viking Pavilion and Portland State University are close to Portland’s mass transit:

    MAX trains – The TriMet MAX Green and Yellow lines stop at the Portland State station. 

    BUS – Trimet buses drop off at multiple stops along SW 5th and SW 6th transit center. 

    STREETCAR - The Portland Streetcar A/B loop stops three blocks away along SW Market.
