Portland State is thrilled to return to in-person commencement ceremonies in 2022, and host three of the four ceremonies at a brand new venue — the recently expanded, open-air Providence Park.

If you're joining us for a ceremony at Providence Park, here are ten things you need to know before you go.

  1. Street parking is available but extremely limited around Providence Park. We recommend public transportation (TriMet), carpooling, or rideshare (Uber, Lyft, taxi). Take MAX and get off at the Providence Park stop on the Blue or Red lines.
  2. There is a reserved lot across from Providence Park reserved for accessible parking only. First come, first serve, and show your disability hang tag to access the parking lot. The address is 2040 SW Yamhill Street.
  3. There is no rehearsal for the ceremony. Please arrive in your regalia ready for the ceremony.
  4. Masks are not required, and the COVID-19 vaccination status of attendees will not be checked at commencement ceremonies.
  5. Metal detectors will be in use at entry. No umbrellas are allowed in the stadium. No clear bags are required.
  6. Everyone who enters Providence Park needs a ticket for entry. Tickets are digital. There are no paper, printed or physical tickets.
  7. Tickets are issued through PSU Box Office and distributed through the SeatGeek mobile ticket platform. Your digital ticket will be sent to your email address. Make sure you note what email address you send your tickets to!  Before commencement, accept your SeatGeek ticket(s) via the link in your email, create an account and you’ll get a ticket in your browser to use at Providence Park on your mobile device.  You may also download the SeatGeek app for even easier retrieval of your ticket(s).
  8. Seating for graduates requires the use of stairs
  9. Graduates who could benefit from an accessible route or require mobility assistance should reserve an Accessible Graduate Ticket for field-level seats. After you've gotten your ticket, tell us about your accessibility needs.  All other ticket types — Guests, Faculty, General Public — requiring accommodations may request them on-site when they arrive at Providence Park.
  10. Bring your mobile device with your ticket with you when you arrive at Providence Park. Your digital ticket will be scanned at entry.
