Maseeh College Inclusive Teaching & Mentoring Symposium

We are hosting an inclusive teaching symposium for the PSU Maseeh College of Engineering & Computer Science! We will be focusing on creating an inclusive climate and culture within the college through workshops and conversations focused on seeding systemic change in our units, classrooms, and curriculum. 

As our keynote, we are pleased to feature Dr. Ebony McGee of Johns Hopkins University where she is a Professor of Innovation and Inclusion in the STEM Ecosystem. She will be presenting on Disrupting Normativity: A Critical Examination and Reconstruction Towards a Structurally Inclusive STEM Curricula/Culture. Dr. McGee is an electrical engineer by training and an 11-time NSF investigator awardee. She is the leading expert on race and structural racism in STEM, with all its toxic consequences and the growing resistance to the traditional STEM ecosystem.

• 8:45-9am - Check-in
• 9-10:30am - Keynote by Dr. Ebony McGee - Disrupting Normativity: A Critical Examination and Reconstruction Towards a Structurally Inclusive STEM Curricula/Culture [Open to PSU Community]
• 10:30-12pm - Panel & Workshop by Dr. Ebony McGee - An innovative & inclusive STEM curriculum
• 12-1pm - Lunch & MCECS Speaker Panel  
• 1-3pm - Best Practices & Translating research Into Action 

The Keynote is open to the PSU community, the rest of the day is for faculty & staff of the Maseeh College of Engineering & Computer Science.
