Ji Woon (June) Ryu, Ph.D., is an Assistant Professor of Management at Portland State University's School of Business. She holds a Ph.D. in Business Administration (Organizational Behavior) from Indiana University, and a B.B.A. and an M.S. in Business Administration from Yonsei University in South Korea. Her research centers on well-being in the modern workplace. She explores this topic through two distinct research streams: "Well-being for Everyone," which investigates how social group membership and individual differences affect well-being, and "Well-being in the Modern Workplace," which examines the impact of contemporary workplace features, especially technology, on well-being outcomes. Her work has been published in several leading journals, including the Journal of Applied Psychology, Personnel Psychology, The Leadership Quarterly, Journal of Business Venturing, and Organizational Research Methods. She received the Meredith P. Crawford Fellowship (2021) from the Human Resource Research Organization, which is an annual award presented to one graduate student demonstrating exceptional research promise and academic achievement. She currently teaches a course on Leadership at the undergraduate level.
