General Fund Budget Calculator

Welcome to the General Fund Budget Calculator webpage!

In support of increased transparency around the university’s budget, The Office of Information Technology, University Communications and the University Budget Office collaborated to create a tool that shows the impact of changes to the key general fund budget figures.

Using this web-based tool through Tableau Public, anyone can model changes to major revenue and expense categories and analyze the potential budget impacts. For Student Credit Hours (SCH), the main source of our general fund revenue, changes can be made at the various student levels and types.

To model changes, enter your assumptions in the boxes to the right of the budget table to see how they impact the FY24 budget. For example, if you want to see how a 7% decline in Resident Undergraduate SCH from FY23 would change the net for FY24, enter -7% in the Resident UG SCH % Change from FY23 box on the right-hand side of the tool. That results in a decrease of $2,134,000 in gross tuition revenue because the budget was built with a -4.42% decline in Resident Undergraduate SCH.

Have fun modeling and reach out to the University Budget Office (budget@pdx.edu) with any questions.
