CTRL+P (Control Print) is an exhibition of collaborative posters created spontaneously through chance and synchronicity. The posters were created through the pre-digital technologies of collage, dry transfer lettering, and marker, referencing the aesthetics and approach of 1980s punk rock flyers and Paris's 1968 student protest posters. The project is part of an assignment offered in a section of the PSU Graphic Design program’s Typography II course. The poster design process began with a student creating a single layer of artwork or lettering. A second student then added their own layer on top to complement, distort, or contradict the meaning of the previous layer. The result is a series of Risograph printed posters exploring the role of chance in the design process and how typography and image conspire to make messages.
