When do we lose access to D2L?
Faculty, students, and most staff will not be able to access D2L after on April 1st, 2022.
How can I tell which of my courses have been archived?
Simply contact the OAI faculty support desk any time after April 1st to confirm that the courses you need have been archived. OAI will continue to have access to D2L until June, so we have a window of time to make sure all courses are properly archived.
What will be archived?
All courses and course materials dating back to AY15/16 will be archived permanently. This includes student information and data (such as quiz submissions, discussions posts, assignment submissions, etc.) as well as all of your course materials.
What if I need courses that are older than AY 15-16 to be archived?
Call the faculty support desk and a support specialist will help you make that request.
How quickly will you get my courses moved into D2L if I request that service?
We are prioritizing moving Spring courses first, although you can request Spring, Summer, and Fall courses all at the same time. Our goal is to get your Spring courses ready to review by March 11, 2022.
How will I know when my course is moved? How can I give feedback?
When you reply to the email sent by OAI, you will be assigned to a migration specialist. This person will work with you to make sure your course is moved and all of the changes you request are made. This includes notifying you directly when they start work, and when the work is ready for you to review.
What happens to student-generated records in the courses like submitted quizzes, grades, etc? Will that data be moved into Canvas?
These data will not be moved into Canvas. Instead, they will be preserved in a secure archive that includes all course materials + student data.
What if we need non-credit courses moved into Canvas?
OAI is happy to move your department or program’s non-credit offerings. Just let us know what needs to be moved, and a timeframe.
What if I have a student/students with incompletes?
After Winter term, all incompletes must be completed in Canvas. Please contact OAI right away and we will assist you in moving the materials or courses out of D2L and into Canvas.
