From the Cascades to the coast, small towns to downtowns, Portland State University researchers are working on projects that benefit communities across Oregon. Leveraging its location in the state’s largest city, PSU has long embraced its mission to Let Knowledge Serve. 

In 2020, at the height of a national and local racial reckoning, Portland State students, faculty and staff envisioned what a racially just and equitable PSU would look like in 2025, setting the stage for an ambitious three-year action plan. Fast forward, and there is much to be proud of.

Assistant Professor Madhu Narayanan received a Fulbright Specialist Program award this winter with an ambitious goal to help develop Tunisia's first STEAM Academy.

The academy aims to equip Tunisian citizens — especially youth, women and geographically marginalized populations — with critical skills for a global economy.
