 | Marlene Howell likes teaching because she learns so much from the students!
Considering the classroom a place where new ways of engaging with
content should be explore, she takes pedagogical risks that she feels
only fail if noting is learned. A lover of animals, bicycling, good
wine, poetry, two-stepping, jazz, contemporary classical music, theatre
and outdoor sun. She is firmly committed to peace activism in all its
forms as a way of life. Marlene did her graduate work in Nicaragua,
interviewing women who were on the front lines of the Sandinista
revolution. Finding a reason to smile or dance everyday is one her most
consistent forms of resistance to patriarchy. |
