Certificate in Real Estate Development

Changes in the real estate industry over the past decade require an advanced set of interdisciplinary skills for commercial real estate practitioners. The graduate certificate program has been designed to build the technical and analytical knowledge of those who wish to enter the industry and to further develop the skills of industry professionals.

The program utilizes courses that are offered by the Schools of Business Administration and Urban Studies and Planning coordinated by the Center for Real Estate. Courses are taught using active participation from real estate industry participants.

Ideally, students enrolled in the program will possess a Bachelors' degree in Business Administration, Community Development, or related social science disciplines. Supplementary coursework to prepare students for entry into the Certificate Program is available within the University's standard course offerings. Because certificate courses are offered at the graduate level, credit can be subsequently transferred into Masters and PhD programs at Portland State University. The coursework may also qualify for continuing education credits for industry practitioners.
