China-U.S. Sustainable Land Use Training Program

A training of Chinese land use officials from China's Ministry of Land and Resources was conducted in the summers of 2001 and 2002 as a cooperative effort of the International Sustainable Development Foundation, a non-profit corporation located in Portland and the National Policy Consensus Center within Portland State University's College of Urban and Public Affairs.

The first training in 2001 consisted of two sessions, each lasting 4 weeks. A total of 67 Chinese officials participated in training coordinated by ISDF and the School of Urban Studies and Planning. The second year of training in July and August of 2002 was coordinated by ISDF and PSU's National Policy Consensus Center in the Mark O. Hatfield School of Government, College of Urban and Public Affairs. Two shorter sessions in 2002 welcomed 56 participants.
