Undergraduate - Applying
Students will
declare the major in Theater Arts or Film upon admission to the university. Students will then formally apply for admission to Theatre and Film degree programs effective upon completion of 90 credits of appropriate coursework. Only then, will a major be able to register for advanced coursework requirements.
For many years, the department has been increasing its commitment to excellence by raising the academic standards of our incoming students. Our admission standards include a minimum GPA of 2.75 overall and 3.0 in the major. In previous years we had accepted only a passing grade in the Freshman and Sophomore major classes. We now require a minimum grade of C. Any course taken with a grade of C‐ or lower must to repeated to be included in the major.
