Solutions Generator - Request for Proposals

To foster the creative energy of the PSU community and to engage all parts of the university in trans-disciplinary problems solving, ISS is hosting a pilot "Solutions Generator." The themes for this event are:

Waste reduction and energy conservation
Social equity
Community food systems

The Solutions Generator will provide an opportunity for interdisciplinary teams of faculty, staff, students, and community members to present innovative solutions to pressing sustainability issues on campus, discuss creative ideas, form partnerships, and generate creative solutions. Successful solutions generator proposals may receive funding to help carry out the project. A larger generator event will be organized in Fall Term 2011.

Stage 1: Registration - February 7, 2011 (extended deadline)
Stage 2: Solutions Generator Event - February 9, 2011 from 1-4pm in Smith 327/8
Stage 3: Drop In Mentoring Sessions (Optional)
Stage 4: Full Proposal - February 18, 2011
Stage 5: Notification - February 28, 2011

    • The annual "Scholarly and Creative Activity Grants for Undergraduates" funding program includes a sustainability track. The program, with funding from the Institute for Sustainable Solutions (formerly the Center for Sustainable Processes and Practices) and the Miller Foundation, is intended to recognize and support leading undergraduate students who are pursuing sustainability research and coursework.
