We can't predict the future, but we can help design a better one.
We strive to do that every day at Portland State University—in our classrooms, our city, our watersheds, and our world. Each student has the opportunity to graduate with real-world understanding of complex sustainability issues —social, economic, and environmental—and have hands-on experience designing solutions.
At the hub of PSU's sustainability efforts is the Institute for Sustainable Solutions (ISS). Integrating research, learning, and service, ISS provides catalytic investment and works with many outside partners to lay the pathway toward a livable future.
