How to get started greening your department or office. Thanks for your help making PSU a sustainable University!

With over 50 academic, residential, administrative, office, and recreational buildings spread across 47 acres of Portland's urban center, Portland State University has a unique relationship with its surroundings. Nearly 28,000 students make use of PSU's facilities each year, in addition to over 3,000 staff and faculty, and many more community members. In doing so, we require services that we might never think about (heating & cooling buildings, mowing lawn, waste and recycling collection), consuming vast resources (water, electricity, natural gas, food), and leaving a lasting impact on our ecosystem, community, and campus infrastructure (roads, buildings, grounds, trees).

Take a virtual tour! In 2008 we produced this
Self-guided Sustainability Tour to show how and where we're incorporating sustainability into campus operations.
Plans are now underway to incorporate campus into the city’s first “EcoDistrict,” to be anchored by the Oregon Sustainability Center.
