The PSU Sustainable Paper Use Taskforce, formed in Spring of 2005, is working towards two major goals for PSU. The first is to reduce overall paper use, and the second is to purchase 100% post consumer process chlorine free paper.

Did you know students, faculty, and staff use more than 32 million sheets of paper each year? If you put all that paper in one stack it would be almost as tall as Mt. Hood! In 2004, almost 80% of that total had no post consumer waste (pcw) content and less than 2 percent was 100% post consumer waste.

The copy paper (8½ X 11, white) alone makes up a budget of about $140,000. In order to minimize the economic and environmental burden of this copy paper, the PSU Sustainable Paper Use Taskforce is asking you to Buy Better and Use Smarter. Here's How:
