Meet Rehman Ashraf

Rehman received his master's degree in electrical engineering from the Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm, Sweden. He anticipates receiving his Ph.D. in electrical engineering from Portland State University in June 2010. He is currently working with Dr. Malgorzata Chrzanowska-Jeske.  "I am inspired by Dr. Chrzanowska-Jeske's vast knowledge in the field of Design Automation of Integrated Circuits and by her exceptional leadership qualities," writes Rehman.  He has worked for five years on the design of high speed microprocessor based systems design, embedded software development and digital ASIC design and spent time as an intern at Intel working on the circuit level design of high speed memory interface and serial I/O design.  Rehman says receiving the Maseeh Fellowship is a symbol of honor, great motivation, and provides him the opportunity to concentrate on his research.  Rehman's career goals include becoming a distinguished researcher in the field of nano-scale silicon, non silicon circuits, and architecture design.
