Mike Little is an artist, musician, painter, printmaker, graphic designer,
recording engineer, writer, and a few other categorical blips in the universe.
He lives and will die one day like the rest of us, wherein his work might be
the only mark of his existence after his self-assumed "importance" is food for
the small and large beasts of burden. Mike Little grew up in Nashville, Tennessee,
not far from Music Row; old-time country music capital of the world! He has
livedin six states in his 28 years, making his way up the geography of the United
Statesfrom the south to the top of the midwest. He graduated with a BFA from the
Herron School of Art in Indianapolis, Indiana and received his MFA from Cranbrook
Academy of Art in Detroit, Michigan. He moved to Portland, Oregon during the
summer of 2007 to teach at PSU. He has one leg in the graphic design department
and the other in printmaking. He's not sure where the arms and fingers are, but he'll
likely find them out there somewhere. He runs a small press printing and recording
studio in Portland with his wife and collaborator Violet Aveline. You can visit their
visually and intellectually inspiring blog at www.powwow.typepad.com!
