Commuting to Campus

*This page is currently under construction. Please check back for updated information.

PSU MaxTrimet Bus

Many PSU students commute to and from campus. Commuter students face different challenges than students who live in our residential communities or close to campus. This page acts as a resource for all commuting students, to provide information regarding parking, travel, and on-campus storage spaces. If you have questions or want additional information, please email outreach@pdx.edu.

Transportation Options for Commuting to Campus

  • Transit: Most commuters to PSU use the TriMet transit system.  PSU is directly connected to the MAX light rail (Green & Yellow lines), numerous frequent-service bus lines, and the Portland Streetcar. For PSU students we offer the Student FlexPass, a discounted All-Zones transit pass valid for anywhere you want to go on the TriMet transit network. The FlexPass is available to all students registered for at least 3 credit hours during the current term. For more information regarding the FlexPass please visit the Public Transit for Students web page.
  • Bicycling: More and more students are discovering the benefits and affordability of bicycling to campus. PSU provides bike racks at all campus buildings as well as secure, covered parking in our bike garages. The PSU Bike Hub, our on-campus bike shop, offers affordable bike commuter accessories, access to tools and instruction for maintaining your bike, and a full-service repair shop. For more info about biking to campus visit the PSU Bike Hub site.
  • Driving: For those who need to drive, PSU provides a wide selection of full-time and part-time parking permits as well as daily and hourly rates. Permits can be purchased online before the beginning of each academic term. Parking permits often sell out before the term begins so don't delay. You can also purchase a permit in person at the Transportation & Parking Services office located on 6th Ave in the ASRC. Parking prices vary. For more information please visit the PSU Student Parking web page.

On-Campus Parking Permits and the Student FlexPass
