Oregon High School Graduates Receive Up to $2,400 Scholarship to Cover Tuition

Portland State University awards the Rose City Scholarship to academically qualified incoming Oregon first years. All applicants are automatically considered for the scholarship — no separate application is required. The Rose City Scholarship is available to first year students for up to four academic years.

Award Amount: up to $2,400 annually

Eligibility

  • Oregon resident
  • Oregon high school graduate
  • Must have Student Aid Index (SAI) according to the FAFSA outside of Pell Grant range
  • First-time first year PSU student
  • Start in fall term
  • Enroll full time (12 or more credits per term)
    • Co-enrolled students are not eligible
  • Students receiving the Staff Tuition Discount are not eligible for this program

Rose City Scholarship Notification

Incoming students will be notified in their financial aid package of their award.

Maintaining the Rose City Scholarship

Students who are in the Rose City Scholarship program may continue receiving it throughout their undergraduate education (up to 12 consecutive terms of full-time enrollment—summer term is not included in the program) by maintaining a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA, remaining ineligible for the Pell grant, and completing the FAFSA each year by February 1.
